Skype does work on a 64bit Linux system after all!

Posted on Apr 24, 2007 under Uncategorized |

I was obviously a bit cheesed off when I made the last entry about Skype.

A bit more googling produced some more examples of getting Skype working on a 64bit Ubuntu install. I’m reluctant to post the info here because I’ve just cut and paste commands rather than understand exactly what’s happening. If I post the info here there will undoubtedly be questions which I won’t be able to answer.

So have a look at Dave’s blog

Glad to hear you’ve got it to work - I’ve passed on that link to the Skype Linux blog guys, too.

Oops, and realised that the link above isn’t right - the Skype Linux blog is there, instead.

Great that you got it working Cie. However the whole GNU/Linux implementation of Skype is lacking. It still doesn’t have webcam support :(
